Note: The Girdle Bug is perhaps the secret pattern of a few local experts on the famous Grand Rhonde River in Oregon. Last year, while fishing a short stretch of the Rhonde, one of my close friends took fourteen steelhead in under one hour. I didn’t believe him until a week later when he showed me the photos of that amazing day. If that isn’t a testament to the effectiveness of this fly, I don’t know what is.
