Hook: TMC 200R
Thread: 8/0 to match the natural
Tails: Lureflash Body Wool (various)
Abdomen: Tying thread
Shellback: Lureflash Body Wool
Thorax: Dubbing to match the natural
Legs: Butts of the shell back, tied to stream down and back, and trimmed to length

Tying instructions:

  1. Start the thread behind the eye and immediately tie in a hank of Body Wool, measured to leave a tail less than one shank length. Do not trim the butts.
  2. Wrap back to the end of thebarb, and back to mid shank.
  3. Pull the butts of the Body Wool back, out of the way, and dubb a ball-shaped thorax.
  4. Pull the butts over the top of the thorax, and tie down with two firm wraps behind the eye.
  5. Split the butts into equal bunches, and pull the far side bunch back and down. Make one or two wraps to hold it in place.
  6. Pull the near side bunch back and down, and make a wrap or two to secure it.
  7. Whip finish and trim the legs about halfway to the hook point
