Hook: TIEMCO 2487 (or equivalent light wire scud hook) #20-24
Thread: Black 8/0
Loop wing: Loop CDC Various Shades (natural and dun)
Shuck: Small Dun Grizzly hackle point and CDC Barbules
Thorax: Peacock herl

Tying instructions:
  1. Tie in Grizzly hackle point as shuck.

  2. Tie in body one-third back from eye with several wraps of peacock covering the tie in point of the grizzly hackle point.

  3. Tie in CDC at base of feather with the dull side facing up.

  4. Loop CDC back to bend and then toward eye forming a wing loop.

  5. Leave some CDC to form up right or forward wing.

  6. Stroke several CDC barbules backward toward hackle shuck.

  7. Tie off and trim.
