Hook: dry fly or curved emerger model, # 14-8
Thread: 3/0 any suitable color
Butt: fluorescent green dubbing
Body: CDC in dubbing loop, color to match natural or tier's choice
Wing/head: elk hair, natural or dyed

Note: Butt can also be yellow, orange or any other usual caddis colour Comment: CDC & Elk is a terrific fly, but when green bodied sedges hatch, than the addition of the green butt improves its performances. I believe that for this kind of fly elk hair is superior to any other, however, for smaller hooks it is too coarse and than finer deer hair must be used.
