Comments and Tips:

Soak the Quills in warm water. Avoid adding things like glycerin or the like. Tie in the stem by the tip. Look closely at the stem. The tip will have a translucent length that will not hold when tied in. Clip that area off and bind on the firm area.

Use the first two wraps of the stem as a bump for the fantail wrap. I do not cement the quill but you can, just don't use a lot of cement. Do so only after the Quill has dried.
