My name is Harry Wallace, and I live in the town of New Fairfield, Connecticut USA. I moved to the States from Scotland just over three years ago. I enjoy fishing on Connecticut’s Housatonic River, and I also spend time on the Delaware, Beaverkill and Willowemoc streams in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
I fished most of my life for wild trout on the river Clyde and its tributaries in Scotland. I tied many flies associated with the Clyde and had much success with them here in the States. I love to tie and try lots of the many flies that exist here, and I have had great fun playing around with lots of new materials and ideas. Most of my flies are based on tried and tested patterns, I just chop and change them a little to suit myself. I still manage to get a few fish! I also enjoy fishing bamboo fly rods and I am currently fishing with Jon Parker models, built on Garrison tapers. I have two very young sons, whom I hope will show as much interest in fly tying and fly fishing as I have.
