Black Winged Ant

Fly: Harald Weidler, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 100 #12-14
Thread: UNI 6/0 black
Abdomen: Dark grey CDC feather twisted into a noodle
Hackle: Grizzly hackle clipped on the downside that the fly floats flat on the surface
Wing: Two cream hackle tips tied delta wing style
Thorax: Dark grey CDC feather twisted into a noodle
Note: Make sure you create the distinct 'waist' by separating abdomen from thorax. No discussion, when ants are hatching fish love to eat them.It is worth to try ant patterns in summer time, you will always have surprises - they catch fish as wet flies as well.
