Green Peter Variant

Fly: Harald Weidler, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Heavy wet fly hook # 10 - 12
Thread: UNI 6/0 brown
Rib: Fine gold tinsel which fixes also the body hackle
Body: Any green dubbing with a bit spectra fibers mixed in
Body hackle: Chinese cock ntatural red tied in the front and wind in max. 5 turns to the back where you fix it counter clockwise with the tinsel
Wing: Hen pheasant feather treated with a drop of vinyl cement on both sides. The perfect feather comes from the chest of the bird,if you strip the fibers back with cement you will get automatically the shape of the sedge wing.
Hackle: 2 turns of Chinese cock natural red

Note: The fly can be weighted with a few turns of fine lead wire. It works best when you fish it in the classic wet fly style downstream.
