Pattern: Hans Weilenmann, Fly and photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Tiemco 102Y #11 - #17 (or equivalent dry fly hook)
Thread: Brown 6/0
Body/hackle: CDC feather (Type 1) (Description of the different Types of CDC feathers)
Wing/head: Fine tipped deer hair, tied in reverse, then split (see tying notes)

(The materials are listed in the order they are tied in)

A recent addition to the CDC&Elk family, the Spent version shows considerable promise. If nothing else, the 'in film' pictureslook pretty yummy to me ;-)

Tying note: The deer hair is tied in 'reverse', then split with figure-8 wraps, followed by a turn around each of the two spent wings to fix them in position. The deer hair butts are trimmed short to form a thorax.
