| Hook: | Dry fly hook, up eye #12-14 |
| Thread: | Hot orange, well waxed |
| Tail: | Brown ("red") cock fibers |
| Rib: | Fine oval gold tinsel |
| Body: | Red macaw fibers, or substitute such as red dyed goose |
| Hackle: | One each of greyish, poorly marked, grizzly and Rhode Island "red" |
