Ian Forbes has been retired for 2 years after spending 40 years in the
Forest Industry of British Columbia. He has traveled extensively on
fishing trips across North America, and takes a yearly trip to New Zealand
and Asia. He fishes an average of over 100 days a year. He has been an
outdoor writer since the 1960s and an illustrator for various magazines
and books. His paintings hang in galleries and homes across North America.
He has been a fly tier and innovator since 1954, even before he seriously
fly fished. He has also been a hunter for most of his life and harvests
his own fly tying materials.
