Started fly fishing at age 14 and started tying flies not long after.
Tried tying at shows (still do on rare occasions) and a short period as a
commercial tier (thanks Wayne Luallen!) during college years, Jay prefers
tying for fishing purposes. However he might tie a mouse or a Dahlberg
Diver to have some fun behind the vice. Jay loves having a good time with
friends on rivers & streams in Germany, Austria, Canada and the USA. After
all, having fun and enjoying the company and scenery is what fly fishing
is about, isn't it? Recently he started enjoying fishing with bamboo fly
rods, partly to be blamed on Hans.
