The "Buffy" Special, a hopper pattern, is a modification of the Werewolf (described by Sandy and Adele Pittendrigh, March 1986 Fly Fisherman). A friend and I inaugurated this fly on a Smith River trip in September 1997. We discovered that the "Buffy" floats well, is virtually indestructible and it really catches fish. The Orange Buffy is a color variation of the original. |
