Hook: | Mustad 37160, #8 |
Thread: | Danville 6/0, Flourescent Orange |
Tail: | Crystal Flash, Red |
Rib: | Medium gauge red wire, counter-wrapped in close wraps |
Legs: | Steelhead & Salmon Dubbin, Red |
Thorax: | Peacock herl, spun in a dubbing loop |
A Bow River variation of the San Juan worm I encountered was nothing more than heavy gauge red wire wrapped around a large Mustad 37160 hook. This pattern is intended to produce a similar effect, while using enough material to call it a “fly”. |
