- Post the wing upright.
- Tie in cock hackle whisks for tail. Splay slightly.
- Form the body with the tying thread back toward the wing.
- Tie in a brown Whiting cock hackle and take three turns of hackle behind the wing. Then two turns of hackle in front of the wing. Tie off and clip excess.
- Form a neat head with the tying thread and whip finish.
- Apply head cement.
The Loop was designed to overcome those windy days and evenings when the wind is gusting and blowing the traditional winged flies about making them land on their side. So far the trout have not twigged that the wing has no body to it, and are happy to sip them in with no trouble.
