Body: Flyrite # 32 Rusty Olive
Hackle: Dark Dun cock hackle (genetic), trimmed below shank
Note: As the stonefly lays its eggs it usually flutter the wings about and the large hackle on this fly is meant to imitate that action. Often, this is the fly I catch the first dryfly-fish of the season on as the stoneflies are active already in February (I’ve yet to see fish on them this early though). Often, the first fish to key in on them is during March.
