I fish this pattern in midday as a normal dry over shallow riffles and "skate" it across the surface of pools around boulders and logs or fish it dry and then "pop" it under the surface at the end of a drift, allow it to drag across the tail of a run and then retrieve with short strips of line a few feet before picking it back up.
