Estaz Egg
Note: Jim Rusher and Fran Verdoliva popularized the use of estaz for Lake Ontario steelhead. The estaz egg is quick and simple to tie, inexpensive, and behaves like an actual egg. I dislike commercial “glo-bugs” because the egg yarn (or foam) is too buoyant. Real eggs tumble, not bounce. The tail is nice, but entirely optional.
