Fly: Marcus Ruoff, Photographs: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Dry Fly Hook size 12-18
Thread: To match body color
Wing post: Aero Dry Wing or White Deer Hair as in the original pattern. Aero Dry Wing or Antron is easier to handle
Hot butt (optional): The Blob!
Body: either Moufflon hair or Dubbing of your choice
Downwing: Ghost Fibre (Roman Moser) or any other coarse Antron fibre and/or 1 or 2 CDC feathers
Thorax/hackle: loop spun Moufflon hair
Background:
Another version of the original Prawu which catches a lot of fish and is quite easy to tie. Only this time a Caddis style wing is added. The post not only makes it very visible again but also aids if you want to pull it against the current to let it drag!

Tying notes:
Tying: Same tying steps as with Prawu Dun but this time you tie in the wing after you have tied in the post and dubbed the body.

This is a departure from my normal standard procedure of a simple 5-minute fly, the tricky part being not to crowd the hook eye and tying the fly with the sight post. To make the fly easer just leave the sight post out.

Although it might be less visible the fly will catch a lot of fish anyway. I promise!
