Hook: Dry fly, sizes 12 to 16
Thread: Orange
Tail: Ginger hackle barbs
Body: Peacock herl, natural tan or dyed tan or gold
Rear hackle: Ginger palmered over peacock herl
Front hackle: Cream for visibility

Note: I tied this variation of the original Katterman recipe after coming upon a feather of naturally tan peacock herl. By substituting ginger hackle for the original brown hackle, the result is a lighter overall appearance for those times when tan or cream colored mayflies and/or caddis are about.
