Note: I’ve always felt that these flies are called salmonflies because of their color, but most patterns I’ve seen are more orange. This fly started out life as an L.C. Moose, a pattern developed by two dentists here…I like the low riding characteristics of bullet-headed flies, and put one on this pattern. I still carry the original version, with several dun hackles at the front of the fly, for when the fish want something higher on the surface. |
