Grey Hackle Peacock
Note: This is another homage fly to my father. Either it or the renegade is most likely the first fly I ever tied. Mike Lawson once told me that he was amazed the first time he saw my dad on the river. He was like a fish vacuum. More than likely, dad would have been fishing with either two renegades or one renegade and one grey hackle.
The only change I’ve made to the fly is to tie it with red thread instead of black, and I use sized hackle instead of trimming it, as on the renegade.
