I was brought up on the banks of the River Wear in Co Durham (England), an early facination with Sea Fishing off the North East coast soon wore off and by the time I was a teenager I was well and truly commited to a life of fly fishing and fly tying.
Although I get as much diversity into my fly fishing as I can (Trout, Grayling, Pike, Salmon, Seatrout, River, Stillwater, Bank, Boat, and Float Tube) I'm never more happy than when fishing the peaty rivers of Northern England.
More recently i've been lucky enough to mix business with pleasure, and currently run an online fishing tackle and fly tying store (www.troutlure.net).
