Sunrise Epoxy Shad

Fly: Thomas Schneider, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: 511S size 2
Thread: Benecchi white
Tail: Shimmer, Holographic tinsel
Body: Mylar Tubing, glued, cut to shad shape
Dorsal Stripe: Peacock Herl
Eyes: Prismatic Epoxy eyes
Shad Dot: Metz stick on
Note: Stripers and Spotted bass love this fly when a moving presentation is required. Weight can be added around the shank to help it get into the zone. The hook point up allows the angler to bump the bottom without fear of snags. Flex coat helps smooth out the fly body but I usually use 5-minute epoxy. This fly works when Clousers and Deceivers fail to elicit strikes.
