Wayne has tied most every type of fly he could get his vise clamped onto
since 1974. He has demonstrated at numerous local, regional, national, and
international events, including International Federation of Fly Fishers
Conclaves since 1980. Wayne's work has been published in several magazines
and books in the U.S. as well as Europe, including Tying the Classic Salmon
Fly edited by Mike Radencich.
A new book for the beginning fly tier is soon
to be released by Stackpole books that Mike and Wayne again joined forces
on; Mike photographing as Wayne tied. The FFF Wayne "Buz" Buszek Memorial
Fly Tying Award was presented to him in 1991. Wayne is especially fond of
teaching the details of fly tying, from thread control to understanding the
nature of tying materials.
The selections of patterns submitted to this page has been very deliberate. On the face of it, very simple flies, and in essence they are. But... lots of little details in these -- that is why I tie them. Simple on the outside, but
challenging when I get done with them!!
