Emerging Mayfly |
|
|
|
Hook: | TMC R200, first 1/3 of the hook bent in klinhamer style, size 14 |
Thread: | UNI black |
Rib: | black tying thread with 2 wider bands at the bead of the hook |
Abdomen: | lemon mohair |
Wing: | fawn coloured deer hair, the best deer hair for this is thin and comes from a late winter kill Roe deer ( each skin as different shading, so check through several skin to get the right colour) |
Hackle: | Grizzly cock |
Thorax: | Claret Mr Peacock dubbing |
Note: The first version of the fly had a thorax of peacock herl, the claret dubbing seems to make this fly more attractive to the fish during the mayfly hatch. |
