Hairwing Hex
Note: A pattern for that last half hour before dark when the fully emerged Hexes, or Drakes as they are known in Maine, are on the water. These mayflies are huge and bring up big brook trout. The hatch typically starts at dusk and is heaviest for a few nights around July 4th.
