I've fished nearly all my life and fly fished / tied flies the last 30 years or so. I acknowledge my addiction to fly fishing and fly tying. To make matters worse, I have a hard time turning down a quality built tying vise. I have over 20 of them. My two favorites are the LAW and the Mathias. I would love to hear from fellow tiers about their favorite or "unusual" vises.
Although I have taught fly tying and done some commercial tying, my flies are more for the fish than the fisherman. At least, I know they appeal to fish!!
A special "thank you" to Hans Weilenmann for providing this site for all of us. I get many ideas from the tiers he introduces. I often use the pattern index search function on his site before selecting a pattern to tie for an upcoming hatch. His photography is amazing (certainly too good to hide all the imperfections in my flies)!
