I started fishing at an early age and ever since first being taken by my
grandfather I have enjoyed the wonderful sport of fishing. My first
fishing trips were simple and like many others I started out fishing for
small species of fish such as roach and dace with a maggot. I was then
taken fly fishing, my grandfarther took me fishing on the River Kennett
around the age of 10. Here I enjoyed many hours catching the trees behind
me, and of course some fish too! Unfortunatly my grandfather passed away
a few years ago and I now fish small stillwaters in the staffordshire and
shropshire area of England with my farther.
My first memories of fly tying were again with my grandfather, I would sit
and watch him tie flies and have a go myself tying any interesting
materials I could find onto the hook. After he passed away my interest in
fly tying disappeared until 2004-2005 when I decided to try and learn
how to tie flies again. Since then I have been tying and creating flies. I
like to experiment with materials and take ideas from existing patterns
and come up with something form those ideas.
My birthyear is 1991 and I am currently (November 2007) studying sports fishery management at Sparsholt College.
