Tail: |
Medium pardo, Coq De Leon barbs, about ten (10) |
Body: |
CDC, beige, tied in by the tip, twisted and wrapped forward, about 2/3 of shank, trim excess barbs |
Wing: |
CDC, Fluorescent Red, fold hackle, grasp tips of barbs with a clip cut of stems, split your thread, lay CDC barbs between split thread and release clip, retwist thread. Wrap the CDC barbs so they stand up vertical to shank of hook. |
Hackle: |
CDC, one olive and one dark dun, fold both hackles together, grasp barbs of both hackles with a clip, cut stems from barbs, again split your thread and lay the barbs between split thread, retwist thread, Wrap these CDC barbs around standing wing in a figure eight. |
Note: I recommend you buy Marc Petitjean’s Majic Tools and his DVD showing how to tie six different patterns. With Marc’s tools, these flies are easy to tie.
