Slowenien Sedge

Fly: Harald Weidler, Photograph: Hans Weilenmann

Hook: Hayabusa 378 #10
Thread: UNI 6/0 olive
Rib: Flexi Floss or Fine Wire
Abdomen: Micro Chenille or Dubbing in orange or green
Wing: Turkey segment glued on tight with window color or another water resistant glue
Wingcase: Pheasant tail
Second downwing: Elk Hair for better buoyancy, and sight marker
Thorax: Mufflon coarse hair
Antennae: Pheasant tail fibers
Note: The Slovenian Sedge is a prooven pattern but sometimes difficult to spot, especially in turbulant waters. The Elk hair helps to indicate it and keeps it on the surface. Fish the fly with movements, you can skate it and fish will take it also below the surface. The wing stays flexible with the fixing of window color on a stocking and is very durable.
