I grew up fishing Wisconsin's spring creeks with the occasional trip to
central and northern Wisconsin. I left for graduate school in West
Virginia where I fished a good number of Appalachian Mountain streams and
brookies as well as fishing a good bit of Pennsylvania. Seven years
later, I left with a couple of degrees and moved to Oklahoma where I'm
just starting to find my way around but am looking to do a lot more warm
water fishing.
I generally don't tie much that is overly complicated and I prefer to tie
the simple patterns and at least attempt to tie them fairly well. While
I've tied mostly trout flies, I'm working on diversifying and tried to
include a few flies that aren't my usual spring creek flies. It also keeps
the tying sessions a lot more interesting.
