Tying instructions:
- Wrap shank from eye to start of bend with tying thread.
- Tie in tail material.
- Tie in Silver Wire for Rib.
- Tie in Flat Silver Mylar.
- Wrap Mylar with overlapping turns to 6 or 8 mm. Short of the eye and tie off. Clip excess.
- Counter wind Silver Wire over Mylar 5or 6 turns and tie off.
- Tie in a Strip of White Poly Yarn Body length + 5 mm.
- Tie in a Strip of Pale Grey Poly Yarn slightly longer than the White, and tie off.
- Tie in the topping of two strands of Crystal Flash the same length as the wing. Half Hitch
- Tie in a short length of Umpqua 3mm Diameter Crystal Chenille. Form a head by using three close turns of chenille ahead of the wing and tie off. Whip Finish.
- Apply head cement to whip finish.
I also like to apply a dab of cement to the Head /Wing joint. Trim the Trailing Edge of the wing to a nice Rounded Vee.
