Hello, my name is mark j. romero and i have been tying flies since 1993
and of course i love it. For me it is the most wonderful way of relaxing
and unwinding and letting time pass along without even realizing it. I
took a photography course in college once, and the time passed the same
way in the dark room. I use to find myself in there right thru other
classes i needed to be at. My first experiences with fly fishing started
in 1989 on my wife's birthday. A friend of ours took us to the Beaverkill
in upstate New York, (the Catskills) and the rest is history. I've lived
in N.Y.C. since 1981 and now i reside in both N.Y.C. and Roscoe, N.Y.
("Trout Town U.S.A.") where i can fish to my hearts content. The
Willowemoc Creek (river) is my northern property line and so i am content
to have that lovely river in my life. After a life in the music busisness
and on the road (audio engineer/road manager) for 30 yrs. it is very nice
to have a small house in the Catskills where time passes quitely and
softly. We have lots of animals to keep us company and it very much
reminds me of where i grew up in California. The kids here, like i did in
Calif., go to a school which has kindergarden thru high school all on the
same campus. My high school graduation class was 33 students. Last year
Roscoe graduated 18. I can be at my apt. in Manhattan in two hours, yet
it's a million miles away. For the most part i tye only to satisfy me.
Extremely selfish......YES! m.j.r.
