Rick Takahashi has been tying flies since the age of eight years old.
“After taking apart his first fly (Royal Coachman) and seeing the hackle
unwind, I was hooked on fly tying. I am one of those individuals who enjoys
tying as much as fishing.” Rick has exhibited his talent and knowledge in
local and regional venues, has had his illustrations and articles published
in Fly Fisherman Magazine and web site. His art has been used for the
Federation of Fly Fisherman Conclave and fly displays. My goal is to share
with others, and to help others come to know the wonders of fly fishing.
Rick teaches art and is the Art Department Chairperson at Rocky Mountain
High School, he teaches a fly tying course for Angler’s Roost and makes his
home in Fort Collins, Colorado with his wife Susan, daughter Haley and son
Josh.
