Hook: | wide gape, medium wire, size 10-6 |
Thread: | brown 8/0 |
Tail: | dyed red golden pheasant tippet, tied long |
Body: | silver tinsel, or mylar |
Hackle: | badger saddle (longish, not too stiff) palmered back from eye |
Rib: | silver wire, wound through and counter to hackle, trapping and anchoring |
Collar hackle: | whole light coloured hen pheasant wing covert feather, tied longish to provide 'kick'. Fold feather, tie in by tip and wind holding feather butt |
Note: Excellent 'traditional' style sea-trout pattern, based on the old Priest. Named after Scottish actress Elaine C. Smith, wife of Wyatt's fishing pal, Bob Morton, in a pathetic attempt to curry favour. Best used as a 'bob' fly. |
