My name is Sean Hansen. I currently live in a small
town in SE Wisconsin, USA. I was born on Long Island, NY,
and got hooked on fishing when I went to Roscoe NY for
the first time. I was born in 1986 and
have been fly fishing since I was 11. I started tying
flies a year later at the age of 12. It took me about
three years to actually catch a trout on a fly.
However, during that three years I was very successful
at warmwater fly fishing. The first trout I caught on
a fly was a small brown trout out of the Housatonic
river. The fly he was caught on was a Royal
Stimulator. At 17 I taught myself how to build
graphite fly rods, and have now expanded into turning bamboo blanks into finished flyrods.
Here in Wisconsin my fly fishing experiences have been
widely varied from a small spring pond near my home to
the spring creeks in the western part of the state
such as Black Earth Creek and Mt. Vernon Creek. My
local spring pond is a midge place and the browns are
really educated. I found it about two years ago and
have become quite good at tying midge patterns. They
aren't much to look at but they are affective.
I am also a big streamer fisherman. I seem to find
myself fishing streamers on new waters very often.
