Gate Crasher (Variation) |
|
|
|
Hook: | Any streamer #4-14 |
Thread: | Black Uni 8/0 |
Tail: | Golden pheasant tippets, dyed red |
Body: | Copper Uni mylar |
Body: | Top to bottom, Purple, red, and orange calf tail (bucktail or marabou also work well.) |
Throat: | White schlappen |
Head/eyes: | Finish as per the "Mr. Bill." |
Notes:I've also seen this pattern tied with an orange schlappen throat. A very nice pattern originated by Mike Martinek. I have taken the liberty of adding the dyed golden pheasant tippet tail. See Mike's original pattern and comments in his "Streamer Fly Patterns for Trolling and Casting." I have found this to be a very effective lake fly during the fall, and also for winter steelhead. |
