Throat: | Small bunch of Ringneck pheasant tail fibers |
Wing: | Grey (original) or Black (Mr. Bill Black) squirrel tail |
Head: | Build up a smooth head. Whip finish and coat with Dave's
Flexament. Paint the Iris and pupil with "Tulip" fabric paint or similar. When dry, coat with Sally Hansen's "Hard as Nails" for an almost epoxy-like finish. |
Notes:Tie an underbody of white thread before wrapping floss. I've tied these on Tiemco 9394 nickle plated hooks for a nice effect. The wing on Mr. Bill Black is natural black squirrel. This fly was originated by my fly tying mentor, Mr. William Messner. |
