Note: This fly was created for the times when the fish are in the jumps. The bass here will take nothing short of exacting presentations. The fluttering action it creates on the pause imitates an injured, dyeing shad. Smaller, more aggressive fish must be culled off the top of the school to reach the larger fish, lying in wait for the spoils. Schools of striper inhale this fly when nothing else will work. Set the hook with a sweeping, sidearm action. It is seldom taken on the strip, but rather right after it begins to flutter again on the drop. This fly was featured in the May 2005 issue of Alabama Game and Fish.
