Notes: This is perhaps the most famous fly that Wayne 'Buz' Buszek developed. It is still incredibly popular, particularly in the Western United States, and regrettably seemingly little known elsewhere. It have hooked a huge variety of fish in both salt, warm, and cold water. My personal best in one day was 6 species. There is a dry version with hackle applied after application of the wing, somewhat "Trude" fashion, but most simply dress the wing if they wish the fly to float. Wet or dry, it is a superb fishing tool. What food form it represents is anyone's guess. |
