Notes: Egg Cluster - this idea came to me via Les Benscoter of Deadwood Oregon. He once gave me a strike indicator made of a corkie with bright pink sparkle wool sprouting out of it's center. With this in hand it was a short imaginative jump to creating the best egg cluster I've ever used or seen. Tying tips: Run a loop of monofilament thru the hole in a 6mm bead. Place a strand of yarn about 1.5" or 4 cm. long thru the loop of mono, center it. Pull the mono loop down against the yarn so the it pinches against the corky, pull a little harder and the yard will pull into the inside of the bead hole so that the yarn is poking up out of it. Hold the mono in this position and wrap the yarn down over the entire surface of the bead, into your fingers at the bottom of the bead. Attach all to hook shank, cut away excess and repeat until all beads are attach to shank. A touch of crazy glue and it's ready to kill. The Egg Cluster begs to be submerged in a glass of water. I like the natural look of the all synthetic materials, plastic beads and polypropylene Phentex yarn when wet. This one sinks like a stone a bit of a "chuck'n'duck'er," but not bad. I can't argue with the fish. |
