Note: The Flymph name was coined by the American Vernon S. ("Pete") Hidy, who was among the first to note the importance of the "transitional stage" - no longer a nymph and not quite an adult flying-capable insect. He referenced as "Flymph" the wet flies by James E. ("Jim") Leisenring. Since then several flytiers have used the Flymph name for a variety of patterns, hence the "Austrian Flymph". This pattern was developed by Erhard Loidl and myself for the Gmundner-Traun in Austria. |
